Hollywood.com reports that Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson considers her experiences on American Idol as abusive.

“On American Idol, you go through this mental thing; you’ve got to get yourself back together. You’ve been abused, misled and brainwashed to believe whatever they want you to think,” says Hudson. “You become a character–I became the girl in the turkey wrapping. I just knew I had to sing my way out of it. I don’t believe in looking back, and I didn’t look back.”

Hmm, it seems that ol’ Jen’s head is getting a mite swelled, with all the attention and awards she’s getting. Interesting that these comments are concurrent to the start of the American Idol season. Coincidence? I think not. Abused, misled, brainwashed? Oh, please. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall other Idol successes complaining about their experiences on the show- at least, not publicly. If there’s one thing Jennifer should learn in the entertainment industry, it’s that you never bite the hand that fed you. Yes, she lost on American Idol and maybe she didn’t have the best time, but had it not been for her exposure on the show in the first place, she would still be at whatever crappy 9 to 5 job she had prior to auditioning for American Idol. Remember Jennifer: many actors have crashed and burned after overwhelming success in one film. Don’t burn any bridges.

By the way, I believe that when Jennifer called herself as the “girl in the turkey wrapping”, it was because she wore this dress during an early performance and Simon ragged on her outfit- and rightfully so. It is pretty fugly.
