JK Rowling’s Potter Message In Hotel Room
Published by Kaonashi February 3rd, 2007 in News.
While Harry Potter fans are still basking in the excitement over the news that the last book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is due out on July 21, 2007, a bit of graffitti on a hotel statue points to exactly where and when author JK Rowling finished her book.
The Sun Online reports that Rowling had written a note in black marker on the back of a marble bust in Edinburgh’s Balmoral Hotel, in which the author proclaims she had finished writing the book about three weeks ago from today.
It read, “JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11th Jan 2007.”
A hotel employee took a photo of the note, which can be found on the Sun Online website.
Wow. It’s a good thing that an overzealous housekeeper didn’t spot this message first and start cleaning it off! I wonder what the hotel will do with the bust now. Will they leave it in Room 652 so that future occupants of the room will have something to brag about? Or will they put it in a glass case in the lobby, to share with all guests? I’m betting on the latter.
