The Simpsons Movie Trailer
Published by Kaonashi November 14th, 2006 in Trailers. Here’s the latest trailer for The Simpsons Movie, which was first shown on Sunday night during an episode of The Simpsons. Watch it before I get a cease-and-desist letter forcing me to take it down.
To be honest, I’m not that excited about it. Believer me, I loved The Simpsons. I’ve seen nearly every episode from Seasons 1-14. My boyfriend and I often go back and forth reciting quotes from favorite episodes to each other. But I haven’t watched it in years because I feel that it’s gone down the tubes (seriously- Marge bonding with Nelson? Gimme a break.) A few weeks ago I watched this year’s Treehouse of Horror, and while there were some funny moments, none of the three mini episodes were nearly as good as those from year’s past.
Let’s face it: The Simpsons are passe. Every storyline has been used, every joke has been done, and every character has been explored. The writers should have known when to quit, and Matt Groening should have known to make this movie 10 years ago, when The Simpsons was still hot.
Judging from this trailer and the teaser trailer, I have a sickening feeling that the movie will be a rehash of something that’s been done to death in the TV series: Homer doing something stupid. Homer bumbled through yet another situation. Whoopee. God I hope we don’t get 2 hours of that.
Still, I’ll still watch it out of curiosity.
The Simpsons Movie, The Simpsons, Homer Simpson, Matt Groening
